Most of you will answer a big NO. Instead of eating this way, most people eat the opposite, they eat breakfast like a pauper and lunch and dinner like kings and queens. No wonder why obesity, weight gain, poor metabolism, lethargy are among the most common problems faced by every second or third person. 

Due to tight schedules and busy mornings, most of us either skip our breakfast or grab those packaged brekkie options like cereals, instant breakfast bowls and whatnot. 

Starting your day with a healthy and tasty breakfast is not as hard as it sounds. A few minutes of breakfast prep before stepping out from your home will make a huge difference to your health and energy levels. 

With that in mind, we have listed the three next-level breakfast ideas that aren't only healthy but are so delicious and scrumptious that you'll eat these three for the rest of your lives. So, without any further ado, let's jump right in! 

Why Is Breakfast The Most Important Meal? 

Before jumping on to the recipes, let's first discuss why legends say that breakfast is the most important meal? Any guesses? 

Breakfast essentially means breaking the fast. This means it is your first meal after fasting for 12 hours or overnight. So, when you skip your first meal, you're literally running on an empty stomach, without any fuel. It's like driving a car without petrol! 

For this reason, health experts advise having the first meal within 2 hours after waking up. Also, a healthy and filling breakfast should account for 20 to 40% of your total calorie requirements. 

Apart from fueling your body, healthy breakfast foods are packed with essential nutrients such as protein, calcium, vitamins, irons and fiber. Your body needs these nutrients for functioning efficiently and if these are missed in the morning, they're hard to compensate later during the day. 

But this is only true when you include plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and all sorts of non-packaged food in your breakfast. Don't expect those sugary waffles or pancakes to provide you with these benefits! 

Breakfast is important for men, women and kids alike. Not only does it fulfil your energy requirements but a healthy morning meal also helps you lose weight. This is possible because you don't crave for unnecessary sugary treats and junk food after having a filling breakfast in the morning. 

Problems With Store-Bought Breakfast Options

There is no surprise that the commercial breakfast cereals and instant meals are loaded with salts, sugars and unhealthy fats. They provide negligible nutrition and loads of sugars. These include the ones that are marketed in the name of "sugar-free", "healthy breakfast" products. These kinds of foods not only leave you craving for more but also disturb your blood sugar levels. 

So, these are the reasons why you should never depend on store-bought breakfast options and eat hearty homemade foods instead. 

3 Delicious & Healthy Breakfast Options

1.Protein-Packed Delicious Egg Florentine

If you're an egg lover, then this is a perfect breakfast recipe for you. It is super easy to make and tastes heavenly. Not to mention, it is packed with the goodness of eggs and veggies, plus the low-fat cheese adds a delicious touch to it. 

Ingredients : 3 Whole Eggs, lightly sautéed and seasoned spinach, cherry tomatoes, low-fat cheese spread, mozzarella /feta/goat cheese, salt, pepper. 

Recipe: Grab a deep dish and grease it lightly. Now layer it with a dollop of low-fat cheese, then add a layer of sautéed spinach on the top, next add some grated cheese of your choice and finally crack 3 or maybe 4 eggs on the top. Add some colors by topping the dish with some fresh cherry tomatoes. Season it nicely with salt, pepper, chilli flakes and herbs of your choice. 

Finally, throw it in the preheated oven at 180C for 10 to 15 minutes. And Enjoy!! 

You can even skip the grated cheese if you want, this dish will taste equally amazing. 

2. Upgraded Avocado Toasts

Who doesn't love Avocado? This creamy, delicious and healthy breakfast recipe is loved by everyone. This avo toast recipe is diet-friendly, so you can incorporate it into your diet plan easily. 

Ingredients: 1 Ripe Avocado, 2 Whole-grain bread slices, sautéed spinach, poached egg, salt, pepper, chilli flakes, lemon 

Recipe: Start by making the creamy guacamole, simply mash the avocado using a fork and add lemon juice plus all the seasonings. Next, toast the bread slices, slather them with this delicious guacamole, add a layer of spinach and finally top it with a beautiful poached egg. This breakfast dish tastes as beautiful as it looks! 

3. Lavender Chia Berry Pudding

Got a sweet tooth? No problem! We have a perfect sweet but super healthy brekkie option for you. It's called the lavender chia berry pudding! 

Ingredients: Chia Seeds, Almond/coconut/oats milk, dried lavender, vanilla extract, honey, blueberries /raspberries, nuts/seeds of choice, peanut butter(additional) 

Recipe: Take your favorite non-dairy milk in a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add in the crushed lavender buds and honey and allow the milk to cool completely. Next, add 2 tablespoons of chia seeds in a bowl and add in this prepared milk mixture. Mix everything well and let the seeds soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Now, add ¼ cup of your favourite berry puree to this chia pudding and give it a good mix. Fill it in a bowl or your favorite jar and top it with any nuts, seeds, fruits or your choice and yeah, peanut butter as well. Chill it for an hour and enjoy!
